Hotel Restaurant "De Watergeus"

A Hidden Gem at the Water’s Edge Restaurant De Watergeus in Noorden truly exceeded all my expectations. The dishes were absolutely delicious, prepared with great attention to flavor and presentation. The service was outstanding — warm, attentive, and genuinely professional, which made the entire experience feel effortless and welcoming. The setting is exceptional as well. With its beautiful view over the water, the atmosphere is both relaxing and picturesque, perfect for a leisurely lunch or a long, cozy dinner. The menu offers a wonderful selection, including thoughtfully composed set menus, and the wine list is surprisingly extensive with excellent bottles at very attractive prices. Considering the quality of the food, service, and overall experience, the price–quality ratio is outstanding. De Watergeus is truly a hidden gem, and it absolutely earns my full recommendation.

We had a wonderful experience at De Watergeus. The dinner was excellent, and the service from our waiter was truly outstanding — very attentive and welcoming. We also stayed overnight, and I absolutely loved it. The location is perfect for visiting Amsterdam, Gouda, and other nearby cities, yet it offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere to relax. A great place both to dine and to stay, highly recommended!

The staff are very nice and friendly. The foods are amazing. You can find the quality only when you have an appetizer. There is almost no public transport around there, but the view from the restaurant is also beautiful.

We organized a surprise party for my husband's birthday. Sandra and staff helped tiredless to making this day an absolute success! Food (even vegan) was delicious, drinks fantastic and atmosphere festive. We went saling in electrical boats with delicious bites and drinks on board. |Rooms & breakfast are top! It was an unforgettable day. THANKS!!

The reason we chose this hotel was because of its central location, which allowed us to explore many nearby attractions. We were also impressed with the restaurant, which appeared high-end and offered quality food. The dishes we tried were delicious and well-prepared, and the service was excellent. We particularly appreciated the seasonal cuisine that was on offer during our visit. However, we did have one negative experience when we noticed an additional charge on our bill that we had not been informed about. Moving on to the accommodation, the room was very spacious and could easily accommodate two separate areas. The living room area was furnished with a comfortable sofa, and we enjoyed spending time there. However, we were surprised to find that the kitchen was completely lacking in equipment, except for a small fork, knife, four dishes, and a kettle. It was strange that they had provided four dishes but only one fork and knife. The bedroom area had a large bed and a wardrobe, and we appreciated the beautiful view of the garden from our room. However, we would have liked to see more flowers in the garden to enhance the view. Regarding the breakfast, we found that it was slightly overpriced for the limited variety of food on offer. We felt that we could have gotten a better value for our money at a nearby cafe. That being said, the location of the hotel was ideal for us, and we enjoyed our stay overall. Although the prices were high, this is to be expected in the Netherlands. We would recommend this hotel to others looking for a centrally-located option.

About 45 min from Amsterdam family run place that are all friendly and helpful. Love this place! Just wish the rooms had refrigerators in them and maybe more receptacles for plugging in stuff. On a lake that is peaceful set in a small town that's quaint. Short walk to two restaurants, but the hotel is a restaurant that's great!

We stopped here for lunch. Beautiful view of the lake on a windy day from the dining room. Food is excellent, service very good and friendly staff. Interesting mix of people having lunch, quite fun watching people.

Very dissatisfied. 1. They did not treat us like the rest of the customers. Our table was not ready, we got water and glasses to drink it after an hour of waiting. 2. One of what it seems a regular customer was smoking a cigar, they allowed it even we we were eating next to him. 3. Only two senior stuff members, they literally treated us different l, if you are not retired or in your 70s or sleeping in the hotel, the service, hospitality and how you are treated is very poor. Food was nothing special, the Michelin star is long gone and it is very obvious why that is.
